How to Make a Brisket Sandwich

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven or smoker to 225°F.
  2. Season brisket generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Cook brisket low and slow until tender and juicy.
  4. Allow brisket to rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
  5. Toast bread slices lightly with butter until golden.
  6. Spread BBQ sauce onto the bottom bread slices.
  7. Layer brisket evenly over the bread.
  8. Top with pickle slices and red onions.
  9. Add a generous scoop of coleslaw.
  10. Drizzle extra BBQ sauce over the brisket if desired.
  11. Close sandwiches with the top bread slices.
  12. Serve warm immediately.

Notes

For the juiciest brisket sandwich, use slow-smoked brisket with a good fat cap. Toasting the bread helps prevent sogginess and adds extra texture.
